Hi everyone

Life's awesome. I've been walking on sunshine for the past week or so -- for no real reason except that I'm just happy. Matthew and I had a great Christmas in Melbourne and New Year's on the Sunshine Coast but it's great to be back sleeping in a normal bed again, instead of on the floor on dodgy blowup matresses (or no matress at all) in other people's houses. So maybe that's why I'm so happy... I'm getting a normal amount of sleep again!

While I was on holidays I started looki...

So I'm at work and it's nuts here at the moment. Firstly, because tomorrow we are having new carpet laid (hooray!!!) so everyone has packed up all their crap so we can move desks out of the way. I've already cleaned up my area but there are still people scurrying around the place as the office space becomes barer and barer.

Secondly, and more frustratingly, the system we write our stories into has died. Everything I'm writing today is finished and all I have to do is click "Send" but I can't ...

Each time I sit to write a blog I am hit with a massive decision. What category do I select?

I can never seem to pick an appropriate category. The things I choose to blog about seem to be too random or trivial to warrant a category of their own. So most of my blogs just get lumped into the "miscellaneous" category. Good old miscellaneous. He and I are becoming so familiar, I just call him "misc" for short. Sometimes when we're feeling particularly relaxed, I'll refer to him as "The Big M". ...

Faced with the threat of losing my best friend if I didn't write a blog or an email I have momentarily returned to my post behind this keyboard to tap out a blog. I have the luxury of being able to do this today as I am currently on time off work to study for my uni exams. That's right, assignments are all now over, and all I have left is four 2-to-2-and-a-half hour blocks of writing and colouring in circles between now and being finished for the semester. Halleluiah! The first of these exams is...

Kids, it's time for an announcement: I've found the cure for cancer. It was right here in my office fridge all along! It's sitting in all it's furry glory nestled betwixt an alien lifeform cunningly secreted within a gherkin dip container and a bottle of wart remover that was once, in days long past, called milk. Such wonders of biology and chemistry, and all in one 80x120x40cm chilled space!

There's a food out there that either I haven't discovered yet or hasn't been invented yet. Unfortunately, it's what I feel like right now. I'm really hungry (and tired and a bit sick) but there's nothing that I want to eat. Isn't that stupid?

What makes it even more stupid is that I'm pretty sure my tired and sick feelings would be alleviated at least somewhat if I nourished myself somehow but the fact I'm tired and sick is making me too [word like 'lazy' or 'ambivalent' which I can't think ...

It's my first day of uni -- first day of my last full-time semester. I had my first lecture before, for Business Policy and Strategy. The final exam for that subject is worth 70%. Talk about pressure! I'm not like my friends who take courses with names like Advanced Computer Nerdulance and Mysterious Coding Languages 1000 who elect to take their final exam as worth 100% of their mark. (Who then go on to fail the subject despite the fact that the are practically Mensa candidates, all bec...

I'm rather tired.

About half an hour ago I arrived home from our church's camp. T'was a very fun weekend, full of plenty of silliness and general mucking around. Lucky for you I'm not able to post the ridiculous videos we made over the past 24 hours, which consisted of an infomercial, a CSI-style show called "Grime Fighters" and a really uninspiring commando crawl impersonation. I don't know what it is about me but it seems like as soon as there's a video camera around I just start acting l...

One week and six days. That's how long it's been since I last blogged. Actually, when I put it like that it doesn't really sound like that long, but I feel like it's been ages! And it hasn't been for lack of wanting to either, but I've been trying to be a conscientious little study bug these past two weeks which for the most part precludes me from blogging.

But who am I apologising to anyway? The main person I blog for is myself (although I like to be entertaining, or at least diverting, to ...

*breathes long sigh of relief*

sometimes i'm frustrated with the inability of text to convey exact sounds. you have to compensate in other ways -- imaginitive spelling, describing actions in asterisks... but it's just not the same.

that sigh of relief above could be interpreted in any number of ways, but only one of them truly sums up how it sounds. that sigh of relief that you sigh (yes, sigh is one of those groovy dual-function words which are both nouns and verbs) when you have a prove...

Hey yo

It's another gorgeous night -- really, my whole life is pretty gorgeous. Sure its not always smooth sailing, it has its ups and downs, it's not a bed of roses (hands up if you hate cliches *thrusts both hands in the air... and a foot*) but on the whole it's great. I'm at work at the moment, doing some printing. In about five minutes when I'm finished I'm going to go home and eat food. I'm so blessed.

There's no real point to this entry... such is the beauty of blogging.

I currently have waves of relief washing over me. Sitting in my (increeeeedibly boring) lecture just before, I had the most horrible, creeping suspicion that I had already taken one of the subjects I am enrolled in this semester. If this were so, it would mean that, not only had *I* paid hundreds of dollars to take a subject I had already taken, but I would get no academic credit for it, I would have to take another subject to make up for it, my graduation may have been delayed, I had already su...

Sometimes you have to go out of your way to find something to chuckle about, other times life's quirky joys come to visit you in the comfort of your own office. This is one of the latter.

Some may argue the chief of fashion crimes is a visible panty line, others (such as my good friend Champas) cringe at the sight of a miniskirt paired with ugg boots.

For me, woman wearing an anklet under stockings gets me every time.

Somewhere in the world today, someone (or more likely, lots and lots of people) is having a birthday. Fortunately for me, one of those happy people works in my office. So we get cake! Let me tell you, few things brighten a potentially dull workday and line arteries with saturated fat more quickly than a mock cream-encased, refined flour-enriched, artificially coloured sprinkles-adorned sponge cake from Coles. The great thing about working where I do is that it doesn't necessarily have to be anyo...

I'm just enjoying chowing down on one of my favourite snacks: a sweet ricey delight produced by a company most famous for its popular breakfast cereals. Despite being a brilliant human being, frequently putting to shame even Australia's most powerful minds (or at least the minds of local primary-aged children) I allow myself to be sucked into the myth that this morsel is more than harmless but is actually nutritious.

Why, it must be! It is stocked on supermarket shelves among crackers and fr...
