yes, I have a populus, and they demanded it
Afternoon everybody
How are we all? I'm great. I'd all but given up on blogging but a kind comment from a friend the other day inspired me to come back and post once again. Here's hoping they live to regret their encouragement!
Things Tegan-way are going well. I'm now well and truly married and it is the funnest ever! Matthew and I are loving just hanging out with one another all the time. I can't give the institution enough praise. I'm telling all my single friends to go forth and get hitched... provided it's to the right person, of course. It wouldn't be quite as much fun if Matthew and I didn't get on.
In other news, I had a very positive day of media consumption yesterday. Matthew and I saw Pride and Prejudice, which I loved and so did he! While watching it, I was thinking it appealed very much to the (generally) feminine delight in the cut and thrust of human relationships, but didn't hold much for the average bloke. On the contrary, my husband also really enjoyed it. Fun for the whole family. I'm also now addicted to Grey's Anatomy. The first episode was on last night and Matt's sisters, who stayed with us the past two nights, wanted to watch it. I had a preconception that it wasn't going to be very good, but it was rad. I'm now otherwise occupied for the next 12 or so Monday nights between the hours of 8.30 and 9.30. Don't call or visit.
Heading into Christmas, there's plenty to look forward to. The Christmas party season is incumbent, kicking off on Wednesday night with Matthew's work Christmas party. It's actually being held at the restaurant where we had our first proper date, which has amazing views of the city. Tres beau! It should be fun. That's followed a weekend or so later with a Christmas party at a friend's place that promises to be a fun night -- and knowing my friend, augmented by a spread of excellent food. And for Christmas itself Matthew and I are going to MELBOURNE!!!!! I'm pumped. My mum's side of the family (which comprises her seven siblings, their spouses and 30 children collectively) is having a family reunion. I feel a twinge of sympathy for Matt, who has only met about half of them. But he's excited too, because Melbourne is cool and so are my crazy cousins.
And this weekend two of our friends get married (to one another, of course). See, people are already taking my advice. I'm looking forward to the wedding because I know both the bride and groom are just so excited. I've known the groom for a few years now but only met his fiance in the past year. It's so wonderful to know people and wonder what their ideal partner is, then finally get to meet them and see they fit perfectly. I'm very happy for them.
Enough for now! Enjoy your evening, JU-land.
