Hiya
Two down, eight to go. Days that is, of my internship at the local daily newspaper. It's just tops at the moment, I'm really really enjoying it! Yesterday was my first day (though I'm sure you could have worked that out if you'd really thought about it) and although I had a fairly good day I wasn't feeling overly inspired about it. Retrospectively I think I have to put that down to tiredness. My life is crazy (but awesome... I've been having so much fun recently! Partly the reason I haven't been blogging very frequently)!
Today was a different story -- I loved it. After settling in and beginning on a few stories yesterday, I did a fair bit of writing today on a couple of different stories and went out on two interviews with a photographer. I'm probably going to have three stories published tomorrow! BULK EXCITEMENT!
I figure that's pretty good for day two. Everyone I've met there has been really friendly and the Chief-of-Staff (the person I take my orders from) is super nice, very patient and accomodating. She's been giving me lots of stories and seems to like my style. All in all, I'm very pleased. I know it's just early stages but I really could see myself working as a journalist. Probably just as well, seeing as I've been studying to get to that place for nearly four years now! Truth is, though, I never wanted to be a journo, although I did want to work in the media industry. Now I could definitely see myself working as a journo, even for this particular paper, at least for a while. We'll see. For now, suffice to say I'm having fun.
Grammatical correctness is my middle name.... well, that and Elizabeth,
