I'm feeling a little uninspired this morning. This isn't such a great thing considering I have about 8 articles to write by the end of the day however I'm sure I'll be able to pull inspiration from somewhere. I don't know why I feel like this as I've actually had a really great couple of days. This morning I went to a cool corporate breakfast at one of the top 10 golf courses in Australia and met several interesting people... I'm beginning to feel a little less like a dressed-up child and a bit more like a grown-up professional at things like this although it's going to take some time before the transition is complete. Hey I know deep down inside I'm always going to be a kid but there are times when you don't really want to feel like one... for example, when you're meeting school principals. I'm also learning to use the word "rad" less and resist the urge to adopt a gravelly Strongbad voice when talking to people about things like financial strategies. And if Lisa B ever reads this... sorry, but I don't think "groovox" is ever going to get a mention.

It's all a learning process, to be sure. It would seem growing up, or at least acting grown up is compulsory. Thankfully I have this outlet for when 8-year-old Teegs just HAS to get out!

I'm gunna stay up LATE tonight... like, 10 o'clock!

Strongbad?? No idea what that is! UK gal here...

He-Man, Thundercats, gummybears (or was that 90s??!), fraggle rock (oh, how I miss that...), to name a few that have jumped to the forefront of my addled brain...

Loved them all!

Gummi Bears was 90s

But then so were the Ninja Turtles - at least in Australia

I'm not even sure I could discern the 80's from the early 90s -- I remember everything Aria just named (and for the record twig RadICAL was the turtles not rad like Splinter "He's a radical rat")
*cringe* slapbands oh my gosh
I miss slouchy socks - Rin and I were talking about them the other day - along with stirrup pants -- did stirrup pants make it to Singapore - you weren't home in grade 5 were you? That's when stirrup pants and slouchy socks were BIG here - with troll dolls and the flintstone kids - Grade 5 (1993)

Arh nostalgia blogs - I love nostalgia

Strongbad as far as I know is an internet cartoon/comic - I don't think it's actually on television but I could be mistaken. I think Tegan has a link to their website and if she doesn't Wayno (in teegs list) would

Okeedokee! I might just have to take your word on that one, trina! I love nostalgia trips too - I just wish my brain wouldn't seize up so often when I try to think of nostalgic things!

oh yeah, stirrup pants didn't make it to singapore (too hot!) but i had some in grade six, along with the slouchy socks and hiking-style boots. then of course there was the ever so stylish leggings and sloppy joe/ bike pants and oversized t-shirt (depending on the weather). which when you describe people automatically think 80s but i for one was wearing them well into the mid-90s if i recall correctly. that's me, always on the crest of the fashion wave.

i don't remember thundercats but turtles definitely fought with honour in my neighbourhood.

ahhhh strongbad!!!!!!!!!!! ok ariadne you're about to be initiated... if you have dial-up these will take a while to load but believe me they are worth the wait! go to www.homestarrunner.com and click on sb emails down the bottom. follow your nose and you will be laughing so hard you will cry in no time!

I'm glad thewre are others about who arent afraid to embrace their inner weirdo-ness The peeps at Viva must think i'm totally strange sometimes.. the strange voice impersonations and random quotes... they smile and nod all the same

Wicked awesome, wicked cool... prefixing wicked to any adjective I picked up from watching many Adam Sandler movies... enriching as they are... definitely an American thing.

I'm loving all the nostalgia realted blogs lately! I had such an exciting childhood... bulk fun! High school - different story. But anyways... it's been grand (maybe I should say "It's been rad"??)
